The Best Meta Builds for the Settlers of Kalguur League: Top Picks for Week 4

Updated: Dec 28, 2024

The Settlers of Kalguur League continues to evolve, with players experimenting and refining builds to stay ahead of the curve. If you're looking to optimize your gameplay, this article will guide you through three of the most-played builds during the fourth week of the league.

Whether you're a beginner or an advanced player, these builds offer both power and flexibility. Find out everything you need to know, including clear speed, boss damage, survivability, and cost-effective gear options.

1. Lightning Strike Trickster (Shadow Class)

The Lightning Strike Trickster is a top-tier build, making up over 25% of high-level players' choices this week. After recent buffs, this build has regained its place at the top of the meta with unmatched power.

Pros of the Lightning Strike Trickster Build

  • Clear Speed: Lightning Strike creates lightning projectiles that run on the floor, obliterating enemies along the way. The strong melee hit combined with this effect ensures fast map clears.

  • Defensive Layers: As a Trickster, this build is both fast and tanky. With 7 frenzy charges, it grants extra damage and movement speed, complemented by excellent defensive layers, including high evasion, spell suppression, and fortify.

  • Survivability: The build can easily reach over 100,000 effective HP, thanks to high armor, evasion, and the Trickster Ascendancy buff, which reduces damage taken by 40%. Additionally, you're immune to freeze and stuns.

Cons of the Lightning Strike Trickster Build

  • Elemental Claw Requirement: To maximize the effectiveness of the Lightning Strike skill, a good elemental claw is necessary, though it’s easy to acquire one from other players.

  • Cost: While the build is budget-friendly for early-endgame content (around 80 Chaos), progressing to yellow maps requires an investment of approximately 150 Chaos. For a more comfortable Atlas completion, around 4 divines are recommended.

Ratings

  • Clear Speed: 10/10 – With 7 frenzy charges and high movement speed from the elusive effect, this build excels in speed.

  • Boss Damage: 9/10 – Recent buffs to Lightning Strike have made this build a powerful boss killer.

  • Survivability: 9/10 – High HP and defensive layers make this build resilient against damage.

2. Flicker Strike Slayer (Duelist Class)

The Flicker Strike Slayer build is perfect for those seeking speed and strength. With the Terminus Est sword sustaining frenzy charges, this build becomes a lethal and fun choice for clearing content quickly.

Pros of the Flicker Strike Slayer Build

  • Clear Speed: The Flicker Strike skill is known for its insane speed, making map clearing a breeze.

  • Life Leech: Instant life leech ensures that you stay at full health during combat.

  • Boss Damage: This build deals massive damage to bosses, capable of shredding through large targets with ease.

  • Beginner-Friendly: Due to its straightforward mechanics and minimal gear requirements, it's a great build for newcomers.

Cons of the Flicker Strike Slayer Build

  • Vulnerable Positioning: Since you're always close to enemies, you're more susceptible to taking damage.

  • Limited Control: The lack of control during flickering can be tricky when you need precise positioning during boss fights.

Budget:

  • Early-endgame content is easily cleared with around 80 Chaos. To progress comfortably through yellow maps, expect to invest around 120 Chaos. For completing the Atlas effortlessly, 4 divines are recommended.

  • Mandatory Gear: The Terminus Est sword is required to sustain frenzy charges while flickering.

Ratings

  • Clear Speed: 10/10 – Insane speed ensures this build is excellent for clearing maps quickly.

  • Boss Damage: 9/10 – Easily deals millions of damage per second, perfect for taking down bosses.

  • Survivability: 8/10 – While the build has solid defenses, being up close to enemies can make it vulnerable.

  • Boss Damage: Using Vaal Venom Gyre, you can stack up to 50 projectiles, creating a shotgun effect when using Whirling Blades to unleash them on bosses.

  • High Effective HP: With over 80,000 effective HP due to high armor, evasion, spell suppression, and block chance, this build offers strong survivability.

Cons of the Venom Gyre Deadeye Build

  • Chaos Damage Vulnerability: Like many builds, Venom Gyre is susceptible to chaos damage, unless you invest in chaos resistance gear.

Budget:

  • You can clear early-endgame content for about 90 Chaos. To comfortably advance to yellow maps, expect to invest around 120 Chaos, with 4 divines recommended for Atlas completion.

What is Path of Exile?

Path of Exile or PoE is the current leader of Action RPGs, back in 2013 it brought a fresh and challenging experience with nearly infinite ways to build your characters. However, it wasn’t until December 2018, with the huge migration of Diablo Players due to the Diablo: Immortal announcement fiasco, that PoE emerged as the main ARPG on the Market. Since then PoE almost triplicates its content, announced the incredible Path of Exile 2, and served as inspiration for many great games such as Undecember and Torchlight: Infinite.

What makes PoE still great and reaching records of simultaneous online players even almost a decade after its launch? You might ask. Well, the main creator of the game, Chris Wilson once said “Path of Exile is a game designed to be played forever” and here’s why he’s right. First of all, as I said before, there are an unpronounceable number of possibilities you can make with your character. This by itself is already a reason for you to keep playing and playing.  But wait, there’s much more. Path of Exile counts with a New League, every 3 months. Those Leagues come with new Challenges, New Rules, New Items, New Skills, New Lore, New NPCs, and so on.

What is the Current PoE League?

Since December 9th we are facing the challenges of the The Forbidden Sanctum. This League has been very well received by the PoE Players, showing the best retention of all time.

The Current League will last until early April when we will start discovering the amazing contents of Crucible. We can rest assure that the New League will be worth playing and GGG will fix past leagues mistakes such as the overpowered Archnemesis Monsters, the reduced Loot and the Harvest Crafting.

What are PoE Builds?

Replaying Path of Exile is always a new experience, and surpassing the big challenges the game provides will fill your gamer's ego with a warm feeling, trust me. As you might be thinking, if there’re so many ways to build your character, it’s easy to screw it up. You are 100% right, but this also means that if you know what you are doing, you can also create very strong warriors to decimate that Endgame. That’s why is important that you know what are PoE Builds.

PoE Builds are when a most experienced player tries to explain how he created his Build, so others can follow its steps. When the game started you could only find those PoE Builds on the Offcial Path of Exile Forum. Unfortunately, most of those Builds were written by players without any didactic or respect for the newcomers. Using many acronyms and showing complete passive trees, those Build Guides were only meant for experienced Players to read.

After struggling (a lot) to understand and learn the game, I decided that PoE should be more welcoming to new players. I took matters into my own hands and start the Path of Exile Builds Youtube Channel and Website. There I always have a vast selection of PoE Builds that are easy to follow and understand. All of my PoE Builds are displayed without acronyms and provide passive trees step-by-step.

If you are a beginner, don’t let people intimidate you saying that PoE is super hard. Just create a Character in the current League and follow one of my PoE Builds. Make sure that you are picking a Starter Build though, those are perfect for new players and for starting on a League. I wish you all the lucky on your drops! Happy Grinding
