Path of Exile Build Guide: Demon Form Infernalist Witch – A High-Damage Powerhouse

Path of Exile (PoE) offers a variety of exciting builds, and the Demon Form Infernalist with the Witch class is no exception.

This guide will dive into the strengths and weaknesses of this powerful build, offering insights into how it works and what you need to make it successful.

Overview of the Demon Form Infernalist Build

The Demon Form Infernalist is a build designed for players who want to maximize damage output. This build relies heavily on life regeneration per second and life regeneration with damage taken to sustain hundreds of stacks of Demonflame.

These stacks provide a variety of benefits, including increased cast speed and a huge bonus to spell damage. With over 4000% increased spell damage, it can deal insane damage to both bosses and mobs alike.

Key Features:

  • Life regeneration: Used to sustain damage from Demonflame stacks.

  • Huge spell damage: Thanks to the Demonflame stacks, which increase spell damage by over 4000%.

  • Clear speed: Outstanding, thanks to fast movement and spell casting.

Pros of the Demon Form Infernalist

1. Incredible Clear Speed

The clear speed of this build is 10 out of 10. With Flame Blast covering nearly the entire screen and followed by comet showers, you'll be zipping through monster packs in no time. The fast-paced nature of this build makes it incredibly satisfying to play, as you can effortlessly clear areas and move from one pack to the next.

2. Unbelievable Single-Target Damage

When it comes to single-target damage, this build shines. You can dish out millions of damage per second, freezing bosses in place and obliterating them with ease. Whether you're facing standard monsters or endgame bosses, the damage potential of the Demon Form Infernalist is off the charts, earning it a 10 out of 10 rating for single-target damage.

3. Great Flexibility

Thanks to its high damage output and fast clear speed, this build can be adapted to a wide range of content in PoE. Whether you're farming regular maps, taking on bosses, or diving into endgame content, the Demon Form Infernalist can handle it all with ease.

Cons of the Demon Form Infernalist

1. Poor Survivability

While the Demon Form Infernalist excels in damage, its survivability leaves much to be desired. The build relies on Energy Shield and life regeneration to stay alive, but the self-damage from stacking Demonflame can be overwhelming if you're not careful. This makes the build very high-risk, high-reward, especially for beginners who might struggle with managing the life-draining effects.

Survivability is rated a 6 out of 10, meaning while you can survive, you’ll need to be mindful of your health and Energy Shield constantly. Using flasks efficiently and monitoring your regeneration will be key to staying alive.

2. Demonflame Stack Management

Another drawback of this build is the Demonflame stack management. Although the stacks grant significant damage boosts, they need to be accumulated over time. This can slow down your damage output slightly, as you have to wait for them to reach optimal levels.

3. High Cost

The Demon Form Infernalist build is expensive to build. You'll need at least 10 Divine Orbs to get the necessary equipment and gear. Additionally, you must prioritize specific items and affixes, which can raise the cost even further. This makes the build a bit out of reach for players with limited currency.

Essential Items for the Demon Form Infernalist Build

To make this build work, there are a few mandatory unique items that you'll need:

1. Ghostwrithe Body Armor

The Ghostwrithe Body Armor is crucial because it converts 50% of your life into Energy Shield. This is important for sustaining your Demonflame stacks while managing the self-damage caused by the build.

2. Ming’s Heart

Equipping two Ming’s Heart amulets is necessary to reduce your maximum life by up to 24% each. This further helps in maintaining a low life pool, which is critical for maximizing your Demonflame stacks and damage.

Conclusion: Is the Demon Form Infernalist Build Right for You?

The Demon Form Infernalist Witch build offers explosive damage potential and is highly satisfying to play, thanks to its amazing clear speed and the destructive power of its spells. However, the trade-off is low survivability, high cost, and a need for precise stack management.

If you're an experienced player who can handle the self-damage and manage the high costs of the build, the Demon Form Infernalist can be a devastating force in Path of Exile. It's perfect for players who enjoy fast-paced, high-damage gameplay and are willing to invest the time and currency into building the ideal setup.

Ratings:

  • Clear Speed: 10/10

  • Single-Target Damage: 10/10

  • Survivability: 6/10

If you're ready to try the Demon Form Infernalist build, make sure to gather the essential items, plan your gear carefully, and enjoy the ride as you dominate PoE's toughest content.

FAQs: Demon Form Infernalist Witch Build

1. What makes the Demon Form Infernalist build powerful?

The Demon Form Infernalist build shines because of its massive spell damage, with over 4000% increased spell damage thanks to the stacks of Demonflame. This not only boosts your damage but also increases your cast speed and gives you a huge advantage in combat, making bosses and mobs easy to take down. Additionally, its incredible clear speed and high single-target damage make it one of the most enjoyable builds for those who love fast, high-damage gameplay.

2. How do I manage the self-damage from this build?

The build involves self-damage through Demonflame stacks, which is a key part of the high damage output. To mitigate this, you’ll need to focus on building life regeneration and Energy Shield to survive. Using flasks and paying attention to your health and Energy Shield is crucial for staying alive. If you’re not careful, you may find yourself dying to your own damage, especially in the beginning when you’re still getting used to the playstyle.

3. Is this build suitable for beginners?

While the Demon Form Infernalist is a powerful build, it is not ideal for beginners. It requires precise management of your life regeneration, Energy Shield, and Demonflame stacks. New players may find the self-damage mechanic tricky and challenging, which can lead to frequent deaths. It’s recommended that beginners practice with simpler builds first before attempting this one.

4. How much currency do I need to make this build work?

This build is expensive and requires a significant investment. You will need at least 10 Divine Orbs to get the necessary gear and unique items for the build. Key items such as the Ghostwrithe Body Armor and Ming’s Heart are mandatory, which can further increase the cost. Therefore, this build is best suited for players who have accumulated a decent amount of currency.

5. What are the key items for this build?

The Demon Form Infernalist build relies on a few essential unique items:

  • Ghostwrithe Body Armor: Converts 50% of your life into Energy Shield, helping you manage your life pool and sustain Demonflame stacks.

  • Ming’s Heart (x2): These amulets reduce your maximum life by up to 24%, which helps maintain a low life pool for stacking Demonflame and maximizing damage.

6. Can this build handle endgame content?

Yes! The Demon Form Infernalist build is extremely powerful and can handle endgame content in Path of Exile, including bosses, map clearing, and even tough challenges. Its insane damage output and outstanding clear speed make it suitable for both farming and facing tough endgame bosses. However, you must be mindful of your survivability and constantly manage your Energy Shield and life regeneration to avoid dying.

7. What are the build’s weaknesses?

The biggest weaknesses of the Demon Form Infernalist build are its low survivability and reliance on self-damage. If you don’t manage your life regeneration and Energy Shield carefully, you’ll find yourself dying frequently. The build’s reliance on Demonflame stacks also means that you must wait for them to accumulate, which can delay your damage output in certain situations. Additionally, the high cost of the build can be a barrier for players who don’t have enough currency.

8. How do I improve survivability in this build?

To improve survivability, you’ll need to focus on life regeneration and Energy Shield. You must ensure that you have sufficient fire resistance, as the build requires it to survive in high-damage environments. Proper flask usage and careful management of your Energy Shield will be crucial to staying alive. Additionally, using the Ghostwrithe Body Armor and Ming’s Heart will help reduce your maximum life, enabling you to handle the Demonflame stacks more effectively.

9. How do I level up the Demon Form Infernalist build?

When leveling up, focus on building your life regeneration, spell damage, and Energy Shield as early as possible. You can use a variety of spell-based skills early on to build up your damage, but once you reach the necessary unique items (like Ghostwrithe and Ming's Heart), your build will truly start to shine. It's important to take your time and gather the required items before attempting endgame content.

10. What are the strengths of the Demon Form Infernalist in terms of gameplay?

This build excels in high mobility, fast spellcasting, and overwhelming damage. You can zip around the map casting spells while destroying large packs of enemies, and the Demonflame stacks allow you to ramp up your damage quickly, making bosses and tougher enemies seem like mere speedbumps. The gameplay is satisfying due to the sheer amount of damage and speed involved.

What is Path of Exile?

Path of Exile or PoE is the current leader of Action RPGs, back in 2013 it brought a fresh and challenging experience with nearly infinite ways to build your characters. However, it wasn’t until December 2018, with the huge migration of Diablo Players due to the Diablo: Immortal announcement fiasco, that PoE emerged as the main ARPG on the Market. Since then PoE almost triplicates its content, announced the incredible Path of Exile 2, and served as inspiration for many great games such as Undecember and Torchlight: Infinite.

What makes PoE still great and reaching records of simultaneous online players even almost a decade after its launch? You might ask. Well, the main creator of the game, Chris Wilson once said “Path of Exile is a game designed to be played forever” and here’s why he’s right. First of all, as I said before, there are an unpronounceable number of possibilities you can make with your character. This by itself is already a reason for you to keep playing and playing.  But wait, there’s much more. Path of Exile counts with a New League, every 3 months. Those Leagues come with new Challenges, New Rules, New Items, New Skills, New Lore, New NPCs, and so on.

What is the Current PoE League?

Since December 9th we are facing the challenges of the The Forbidden Sanctum. This League has been very well received by the PoE Players, showing the best retention of all time.

The Current League will last until early April when we will start discovering the amazing contents of Crucible. We can rest assure that the New League will be worth playing and GGG will fix past leagues mistakes such as the overpowered Archnemesis Monsters, the reduced Loot and the Harvest Crafting.

What are PoE Builds?

Replaying Path of Exile is always a new experience, and surpassing the big challenges the game provides will fill your gamer's ego with a warm feeling, trust me. As you might be thinking, if there’re so many ways to build your character, it’s easy to screw it up. You are 100% right, but this also means that if you know what you are doing, you can also create very strong warriors to decimate that Endgame. That’s why is important that you know what are PoE Builds.

PoE Builds are when a most experienced player tries to explain how he created his Build, so others can follow its steps. When the game started you could only find those PoE Builds on the Offcial Path of Exile Forum. Unfortunately, most of those Builds were written by players without any didactic or respect for the newcomers. Using many acronyms and showing complete passive trees, those Build Guides were only meant for experienced Players to read.

After struggling (a lot) to understand and learn the game, I decided that PoE should be more welcoming to new players. I took matters into my own hands and start the Path of Exile Builds Youtube Channel and Website. There I always have a vast selection of PoE Builds that are easy to follow and understand. All of my PoE Builds are displayed without acronyms and provide passive trees step-by-step.

If you are a beginner, don’t let people intimidate you saying that PoE is super hard. Just create a Character in the current League and follow one of my PoE Builds. Make sure that you are picking a Starter Build though, those are perfect for new players and for starting on a League. I wish you all the lucky on your drops! Happy Grinding
